My goodness Durant is the best college freshman player I have seen in quite a while.

If you had to choose one for the NBA who would you select?

I would have to go with Durant but both should be sensational pros.

I would take the guy from the lakers who I think is younger than both of these guys. The Lakers kid will be the best of all of them.

Somehow the Lakers knew.

I'm going to go out on a limb here (Choptalkish statement) this guy could be an alltime great , maybe top ten player in the history of the game.

He already has a very polished outside J.

I remember when the same stuff was being said about Lamar Odom..

Durant is solid and I'd have to take him over the old man at Ohio State.

Not Durant. He is a great college player but may be just MAY BE a little soft. You take the 7 ft low post potential franchise player over the forward who wants to play facing the basket. No contest. THough I am not sure either one will be a superstar in the NBA.

THen again I though Wayman Tisdale would be a great NBA player a few years ago. LOL.

He is soft for sure and they say he doesn't have that killer instinct...but this guy still drops 30 a game. Just imagine what he will do if someone lights a fire under his ass.

Both these guys seem a tad soft but very mature and poised for freshman.

TomBrady I remember when Portland decided to go for the surer thing with the 7 ft Sam Bowie....the only thing they retired of his was his red shirt jersey.

We're looking at two NBA future stars.

That is what they say. THey are comparing the big 7 footer with Ewing and all the other great ones too at this stage. We will see. I will not doubt they will be stars in the NBA.

Bowie was a bust but had major injury problems and that was compounded by them passing on Jordan. OUCH!

Sam Bowie was as soft as they come. He didn't want to post up either. He wanted to be like ralph sampson and shoot 3 point shots. Bowie and Sampson thought they could play in the N.B.A. without going inside and rebound. Not going to happen.

In high school I saw Bowie shoot 10 straight 3 point shots in practice. That's what he was doing before the game. If there was an N.B.A. scout that saw that I wonder why he got all the hype? It was obvious he was soft. Even in high school he wanted to stay outside and shoot.

Back then though it was supposed to be a sign of greatness if a 7 footer could shoot from the outside. Only Dirk has been able to get along in the N.B.A. with that talent.

well Durant ain't no sam bowie. The man has crazy skills and is far from soft. He is 4th in the NCAA in rebounding to go along with his great shooting and he gets over a steal and ablock a game. There is nothing soft about his game.

Bynum... and yes if he can put together some co-ordination and bulk up he will be better than what you are seeing from Howard these days

He also can go one one one with the best of em. He has great touch too for a guy of his size. He will only get better and better. I did not realize he was 4th in rebounding and that is very impressive. He likes to play far from the basket andnot sure how that will play out....maybe not soft but he hangs at the top of key and that will not happen in the NBA, i do not think.
